A Tribute to my Mom
As mentioned above, my first mother died of cancer when I was 23.
Then Dorothy, my stepmother was brought into our family.
She helped all of us children to grow up into adulthood. I was already away from home by this time, but I benefited from mom’s loving-caring relationship as we talked late into the morning many, many times about my relationship and responsibilities to my own family--Peg, Dan and Russell. She has always been there as a sounding board. Her and Dad’s commitment to each other has been an encouragement to me. Clothes, by the truckload washed, meals, by the hundreds made so precisely, a house so well kept, inside and outside, taking such good care of my Dad and my sisters, and being a mother and friend to me, too. These only say part of what Mom has meant to me. Thanks, Mom for being there. Jim
12-12-2008 Addition to Tribute.
Mom, Dorothy, died June 17th, of this year, after battling cancer for just over twelve months. She fought hard, but was content with the thought that God might be ready for her to
come home to be with Him. Mom, never stopped in her 34 years with us, along with Dad, praying for each of us children--that each of us would follow the teaching of Jesus and put Him first in our lives. Enjoy being
with Jesus, Mom; say hi to our first Mom, Clarice. We be there soon to be with all three of you. Jim
